Hi, when I change message text in wp-login.php form English to my language with special characters like ěřžť, it shows only black rhombus with question mark. And in login page everything is working fine. Also in lostpass site I can see UTF-8 is on, cuz button have Czech diacritics.
    Thanks for help.

Sorry for the late reply. It sounds like you saved the changes using a non-UTF-8 encoding. UTF-8 is the WP default and as long as related files are also UTF-8, it all should just work. Another possibility is the font being used does not support all Czech characters.

You shouldn’t be editing wp-login.php, if that’s what you did. Any changes will be lost during the next update. You should use filters to alter what text WP uses. If there is not a dedicated filter for what you want to change, you can use the generic “gettext” filter to change any string that is part of the WP translation scheme, pretty much any label output by WP.
