# UTF 8

 * is it possible to change to utf-8? we are getting several “&” instead of “&” 
   in excerpt text. (eg [http://www.bergtour-online.de/beliebte-touren/](http://www.bergtour-online.de/beliebte-touren/))

 * Actually, WPP’s default charset is UTF-8 (see [here](https://github.com/cabrerahector/wordpress-popular-posts/blob/3.3.1/wordpress-popular-posts.php#L152)).
   When WordPress loads it, WPP requests your site’s charset (see [here](https://github.com/cabrerahector/wordpress-popular-posts/blob/3.3.1/wordpress-popular-posts.php#L340))
   and then uses it when creating the excerpt (see [here](https://github.com/cabrerahector/wordpress-popular-posts/blob/3.3.1/wordpress-popular-posts.php#L2757))
   so it should convert these characters correctly.
 * Unfortunately, I’m a bit busy with work stuff so I can’t really take a look at
   this right now. I may have some time during this upcoming weekend, if so I’ll
   post back here once I figure out what might be going on.
