    Hi!
I just googled my site (www.josephineellen.com) and the snippet that comes up includes words and phrases pulled randomly from the first page of my blog:

“Josephine Ellen. Christmas holiday. New York City …. Logo: Owl Ink Calligraphy & Design · © 2014 – 2016 JOSEPHINE ELLEN | All Rights Reserved. Back to …”

Is it possible to use Yoast to create my own snippet? I know Yoast lets you create a snippet for each page or post that you make (i.e. /about or /contact, etc) but I’m talking about the snippet for my main site (josephineellen.com/)
    Please advise! Thank you!

  • It seems that you have set “dynamic front page”. Try to open WP dashboard, SEO menu, then Titles & Metas. You should see Homepage where you can enter custom title and description. (basically, description is part of snippet which you see)

PS. you need to wait some time to google change it. (from couple days to couple weeks)

Where can I find the SEO menu >> Titles & Meta?

I just noticed that you have two sitemaps and you should see notification in SEO dashboard. I can open sitemap.xml (other plugin) and sitemap_index.xml (Yoast SEO).

Related to this, you should see notice:
The ….. plugin might cause issues when used in conjunction with Yoast SEO.
Both ….. and Yoast SEO can create XML sitemaps. Having two XML sitemaps is not beneficial for search engines, yet might slow down your site.

Please check all other plugins, you should choice only one SEO plugin to avoid conflicts.

PS. I just saw that other sitemap is coming from Jetpack.

I forgot to write. You need to enable Advanced options, then you will see “Titles & Metas”. Instructions is here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/remove-advanced-yoast-seo-settings/

    Excellent, thank you so much!
I’ve disabled the Jetpack sitemap and found the Titles & Meta section. Thank you @stodorovic!
