    Hello,

I was thinking about using WP as the public facing front end for a niche small business CMS, but I wonder if there are some limitation to consider in terms of data size and complexity.

We have about 1,500 clients and the total inventory among all clients is 1 million. Each inventory item has many pictures and dozens of data fields.
We plan to grow past 5,000 clients, in the next year or two.

We have a current admin backend that we’d keep. Our service includes a website where inventory and other business information is displayed publicly. We’d use the WP engine for this part only.

Any issues come to your mind? Pros/Cons?
    What are your thoughts?

    Thanks
    Peter

    Peter,

Without getting technical, I’d say a great place to start answering your question would be the WordPress showcase.

I think often the issue isn’t whether or not WordPress can handle what you throw at it. I think the more prevalent issue has to do with the hardware WordPress is being hosted on.

Those are my (very brief) thoughts!
