  • I’m condidering using wordpress to drive my whole website which my blog is only apart of it. Hand have it so that the index page is not the blog page, but a specialy desined one. I kind of figured I have to hack the index.php file in the theme I’m using. Am I correct? If so, how would I do it?

  • You just need to use a plug-in:
    Static Front Page

This isn’t the biggest deal but when I use Static Front Page it doesn’t add the Home page to my wp_list_pages . Any thoughts on why that’s happening?

I use WP for a basically non-blog site. My main page is a custom home.php that I put together. For me, WP is a great content management tool that also offers all the benefits of a blog.

You can either add the ‘home’ page to the page list manually, or you can also use the sticky-menus plugin and build a main menu that combines pages and select categories.
