I noticed that this theme doesn’t support comment link or count in the ‘blog’ main page… one has to go in to the individual ‘posts’ to comment on them.
that is the default and common to almost all themes.
But I also noticed that my ‘pages’ are not showing a comment form. I have not disabled that feature in the settings… so am not sure what went wrong.
please review https://codex.wordpress.org/Comments_in_WordPress for all the ways to allow comments, even in static pages.
Pardon my ignorance. I moved from wordpress.com to .org few months back but never got around to working on the themes in detail.
