I have tried incorporating SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) into pages and posts using “embed”, “object” and “iframe” (are there more ways?). With embed and object, I get great results for a moment and then WordPress changes my code and it breaks. It seems that WordPress thinks that SVG = Flash – not true! It changes my simple:
<embed src=”/wp-content/uploads/svg/opera_house_sydney.svg” width=”500″ type=”image/svg+xml” />
<object width=”500″ height=”240″ classid=”clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000″ codebase=”http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0″><param name=”src” value=”/wp-content/uploads/svg/opera_house_sydney.svg” /><embed width=”500″ height=”240″ type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” src=”/wp-content/uploads/svg/opera_house_sydney.svg” /></object>
What gives? How can I force WordPress to keep my code. Or, who knows how to successfully embed SVG? I have tried two plugins but maybe they conflicted with other things in my theme or maybe they don;t really work for SVG – I had no success. Are there any SVG gurus out there who can help me? Thanks!!
