[Resolved] Using Subscribe2 when new posts are back-dated

  • Great plugin and terrific support – thanks!
We have a blog that contains old articles from the 1970s-1990s – one article per post – and the posts are back-dated to match the original publication dates of the articles.

I’m using Facebook to update followers on newly posted *old* articles, but it seems that Subscribe2 is unable to trigger a digest because of the old post dates.

We definitely want to keep the post dates to match the article dates. Is there a way to get Subscribe2 to send a digest when we add (pre-dated) articles?

    Thanks!
    JF

  • @jf,

    Short answer her is ‘no’.

When the digest mode is active Subscribe2 looks for posts that are time stamped between the time of sending of the last email and the current time. Back dating a post will move the date outside of the time frame, changing the timeframe will attempt to include all posts made in this timeframe – not just the new back-dated stuff.

The best way I can think for you to do this is copy the content of the post and send it in an email from the Subscribe2-?Send Email page.

Thanks very much! You confirmed my assumptions on this one.
