[Resolved] Using Subscribe 2 for downloads

    Not as far as I’m aware no. You could always write some code that checks that a downloader has an email address in the Subscribe2 database before allowing the download but there are download authentication plugins already so why re-invent when solutions already exist?

    Simple, all the download authentication plugins I can find dont then use the subsequent log they create in the way subscribe 2 does i.e. automatically send notifications of posts etc to those in the log. So you have to manually transfer the emails in the download authentication log to the subscribe2 database losing a high proportion of them to their spam filters in the process because obviously they haven’t verified a subscription request.

    That’s fair enough but Subscribe2 is a post notification plugin first and foremost so it doesn’t provide any mechanism to allow it to control download access.

    To add this would require some coding and that could get quite extensive.
