Support » Installing WordPress » using speakeasy.net isp and issues starting out

  • I use another ISP for another domain and they’ve partnered with WordPress, so the install, setup, and enabling/config were a breeze…but then I don’t know that much about what went on at the root level–and I can see the directories in my FTP management panel. But with an old ISP from Seattle, speakeasy.net, I can’t seem to do anything right. I have root access, but actually think the php server lives in a non-published directory somewhere in their domain. Sometimes I know what I’m doing, sometimes not. Perhaps I too clueless to know if I have a Unix or Win hosting account.

  • And what is the question? If it is related to your host (not ISP), wouldn’t be a better idea to ask them?

*ISP = internet service provider = the guys who gave you the wire to hook up your computer on the net 🙂
*host = where you bought a hosting package and your site’s files reside
