    Hi there,

I would like to only display the events belonging to one specific category I defined, say “my-slug”. I’m trying to use this shortcode [event-list event-category=”my-slug” style=”list” show=5] and it doesn’t seem to work. What am I doing wrong?

    Thank you!

Okay, the complete shortcode is wrong.

    • [events_list], underscore, not a dash.
    • Categories can only be targeted by their ID, not slug.
    • “style is invalid. The shortcode itself already says “list”. 😉
    • “show” is invalid as well.

Check out the complete overview here: https://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/event-search-attributes/

So it should be more like:
    [events_list category="12" limit="5"]

By default the shortcode will use the markup as defined in Events > Settings > Formatting > Events Page. You can overwrite that markup easily within the shortcode.

    <ul>[event_list category="12" limit="15"]<li>#_EVENTNAME on #_EVENTDATES at #_24HRSTARTTIME</li>[/events_list]</ul>
    (for example) 😉
