 * Am not a beginner; have customised themes using child themes CSS and templates
   with no problems. I needed a theme with an e-commerce option so I have just purchased
   a new theme that comes with Redux Framework embedded. I tried to disable this
   but apparently the theme needs it.
 * Not sure why I need to use this to make a few changes in style. I usually use
   Firebug to pinpoint the selector I need to target, and make my changes. I don’t
   need to set things up for clients as most of mine don’t do their own maintenance.
 * So now this new site has the usual WP Appearance/Customise set-up but also a
   Theme Options set-up. Do I use both or what? Using custom CSS in the child theme
   does not seem to work with this theme.
    Some of the selectors I need to target
   are not in the basic CSS.
 * I am using the plugin Child Theme Configurator and am wondering if it conflicts
   with this theme and Redux.
 * So basically I want to know if I should forget how I’ve customised in the past
   and try to figure out Redux. My sites are mainly small business brochure-type
   sites and not complicated.
 * Thanks

 * Redux Framework is the control panel of which that theme operates. It does things
   like dynamic typography output and dynamic CSS.
 * Redux is a toolkit for devs to get input from their users. To see the capabilities,
   you may want to look at: [http://demo.redux.io](http://demo.redux.io).
 * But hey, I’m the lead dev for Redux. A little partial here, heh.

 * Thanks Dovy – yes I have looked at the Demo already and it seems to have much
   more stuff in it than the Appearance > Theme Options panel I have. For example
   the Typography set up looks interesting but I don’t have that.
 * I am confused – are you saying that it replaces the WP Appearance > Customization?
 * Thanks

 * It is a framework that devs use to make panels OR Customization fields. It’s
   primarily for developers. You shouldn’t have to worry about it. 😉

 * OK – I won’t ! Thanks!
