[Resolved] Using MySQL Connect

  • I’m just about to start creating some custom pages for updating details in mysql on my wordpress site.

It appears that the mysql connect command uses plain text to store the password and connect.

I would have thought this was a problem but dont see many alternate suggestions.

Can anyone advise if this the best approach or is there a more secure way to connect through php pages?

Why do you need to even use mysql connect to connect to your WP database?

its more to do with woocommerce tables. I want to create custom posts and potentially build a csv importer because I cant find one I like.

You still shouldn’t need to use mysql connect. You will already be connected to the database in the WP site. Try downloading http://wordpress.org/plugins/eshop-csv-export/ and see how that plugin achieves something similar for eShop

Thanks Esmi. I will have a good look at that
