    Hi,

I’m trying to create a form which has a dropdown select, with the default option set to a magic tag to pull the page title. It shows correctly on the front-end of the form, however it doesn’t come through when the form is inputted. Also if the form is set to required, it flags that field as incomplete, even though it has the magic tag.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!
    Andy

    Hi Andy,

This has to do with pre-processing vs. post-processing of your form. Our magic tags autoload on the front-end as you noticed, but this feature is most often used to reflect form input in text fields or other front-end functionalities. Your data is not saved until you save, so the magic tag would effectively come through blank unless you save the form.

Many of our users solve this problem with our Connected Forms add-on, which works by “linking” multiple forms. At the end of each “form,” the data is saved, which solves your problem. The addon is here: https://calderaforms.com/doc/using-connected-caldera-forms/
