Yes this plugin (internal links only enabled) puts tremendous load to the server.
And i already have a caching plugin enabled. I have 9000+ posts and NEVER had a server load problem before.
And to be exact, the plugin uses extreme I/O, according to my Cpanel Usage Statistics.
I have maxed for the 1st time in years my 10 mb/sec limit. Not Good.
Here is a solution for people that have server load issues.
Install WP Super Cache plugin and ENABLE PRELOADing of all pages/posts/taxonomies/categories.
WP Super cache (that i don’t like much) plays well with this plugin and after everything is preloaded (precached), there is no load at all. Needs a bit of tuning, but works well.
hello,
The plugin create also thounsands of files for its cache… it created 589689 files in the same repertory ! (!!!)
maybe something to do, it almost killed my hoster, an rm -rf unable to clean that mess
