Using images instead of words in menu?

  • Is it possible to change the menu items at the top right side of the page from words to images? I have some small icons from a previous blog I’d like to use instead. For example, I have heart to use in place of the word “Favorites” etc. I have all the pngs but have no clue how I would go about changing them over. I’ve read thru a bunch of similar threads but haven’t found a response that seemed to do the same thing I’m wanting to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

If it’s just in the text navigation menu that you want the image to appear, you can just use the custom menu function in WordPress (Appearance -> Menus), entering your image src ( <img src=”http://full-url-to-your-image.png” /> ) in the “navigation label” box. Not very elegant and I am sure someone with more programming knowledge will be able to give you a better solution, but it works. 🙂
