Using FrontPage?

  • Are there any problem modifying WP or a template that I may use with MS FrontPage? I know FrontPage bloats the code, but is this a serious problem? Are there any other solid reasons why I shouldn’t use FrontPage? My reason for wanting to use FrontPage is that I know it and I wouldn’t have to undergo a new learning curve.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Don’t use FrontPage for WP. It wont wok!

And it won’t work becasue the WordPress pages are all php, which won’t run on your Windows machine, unless you’re running a webserver. (and even then, don’t use front page! :D)

Best thing to do is edit stff live in a test area.

I use FrontPage to set up my WP 1.5 and have no problems. In fact it is easier than working with a general text editor and uploading using FTP. Also you can open php pages in FrontPage and work on the “text/notepad” format and then just click save and refresh and boom! your page and changes are saved instantly on the server. There may be some limitations – which I haven’t come across yet but so far so good.

so can I install the software on my local windows server with frontpage and then publish it to the Apache server where the database is located?
I am accustomed to frontpage 2003 and that would make it easier for me.
