On the Location tab how do we set an External GEO API?

I’ve got the GEO IP Detect plugin activated as the WooCommerce geodetect causes issues with WPEngine Cacheing.

But there are no instructions on how to use this feature, am I missing something?

  • Have you tried the External API in Multi Currency Settings? It may help.

Yes I selected External from the settings, but I don’t see anywhere to input or choose which API I am using. Is there an external API you recommend?

It is not possible to input your API. We have an external API already (not WooCommerce API). Please select external and check if it works fine. (just select External API then Save). If you want to use your API in WooCommerce Multi Currency. You will need to custom the plugin.

Thanks for the reply. Maybe I’m misunderstanding the meaning of that section. The WooCommerce Geolocate with cache support causes endless loop issues on my site. I’ve tried the above linked plugin and it’s geolocation functionality works on my site (hosted on WPEngine).

So if I have that plugin activated and select External API on Woo Multi Currency and it doesn’t work then no dice?

Hello Multi Currency will use it own External Geo API. Other Geo API will not matter.

Just following up in case it helps anyone else.

Using the GEO IP Detect Plugin with this data source “Automatic download & update of Maxmind GeoIP Lite City” does work!

    Thanks again for your help.

    Thank you for the suggestion
