 * I am developing a site of a company that makes trips on the coast and upload
the images for customers to download, initially I developed it with php, but
when downloading multiple images it did not work for me.
    Now with WordPress
I am trying to create a gallery from a folder of images where the client will
put images and I need to create the gallery automatically. Using your plugin
and configuring to leave the images in the original folder works, the problem
comes when you upload new photos, these are not updated, is it possible to do
it through the plugin? and multiple download?
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fusing-external-folder%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * [@nelnerja](https://wordpress.org/support/users/nelnerja/) – Are you adding new
photos through the Gallery > Add Gallery / Images ? If you’re adding new images
to the server and not through the WordPress dashboard upload page, you’ll need
to navigate to Gallery > Manage Galleries > select gallery to edit, open the’Gallery
Settings’ tab and select to scan for new images. Unfortunately, it won’t automatically
do this for you. I’m very sorry for that inconvenience. WordPress prefers to
have as little ‘auto scan – like’ scripts as possible because this can use a
lot of resources from your server. To help reduce the burden on the server we
have the manual scan made available. I hope this helps clarify 🙂

 * Becky i have a similar question if you dont mind.
I created a gallery and then
added images from a folder (3rd party app) that resides in the native WP Media
tab. I have the NG option set that creates a copy for the NG galleries. Can i
now delete these images from my WP Media tab? and not have this deletion affect
   my NG gallery? Thanks
