# Using Excerpts

 * Hi,
 * I’m trying to configure the theme so that it shows Excerpts insert of regular
   content.
 * In index.php, I changed `<?php the_content(); ?>` for `<?php the_excerpt(); ?
   >`. It works fine everywhere except when I click on a post to see it in full 
   view: the full view post is blank.
 * Does anybody know what I might be doing wrong?

 * Sounds like you have a problem in your theme’s single.php template file.

 * Change to default theme and have a check with it..if it will resovle then there
   must be an issue with theme..
