    Hi, Chad

I have a simple question I hope you can address.

We are trying to customize WP-Members form for our site, and do NOT plan on using shortcodes to generate them. It is of course simple to pull your markup examples and modify them or grab generated markup and start modifying that (we use Twig templates, so that would be our base implementation).

Is there any benefit to using WP-Members Form Customization APIs over copying and modifying markup if you have no intention of using shortcodes in the admin UI?

    Thanks very much,

    Josh Schneider

  • I will respond to my own post, but still welcome any input.

    1. Silly of me to wonder if there’s a downside to using hardcoded templates, since no admin changes will be reflected in the forms
    2. It seems difficult to parse out form elements to, say, just add custom classes. I’m studying the various API functions

    Thanks

Side note: @joshc4 and @josh68 Which is the same person so…

I’m banning the newer less used account. This one.

    Here’s why.

I’ve going to give you a chance to reply before I ban that account but one of them is going as multiple accounts are not permitted here. Feel free to let me know here which one goes.

First off, I apologize, I did not realize I was violating a WP forum rule. I had been using my personal email and account to ask questions related to my work, so I created a new WP account using my work email. I’d like to be able to use both, but I suppose if one has to go, it would be the new one (@joshc4). Is there a way to preserve the question asked under that account?

    Thank you.

No worries and thank you for replying well (Moderators get hate mail sometimes).

I’ve marked the newer account as Spectator which means you can see but can’t post or reply. Your other topic will remain and can be replied to.
