• Hello,

Recently I purchased a premium WordPress theme which looked right for my needs. However, it turns out – and this was something the developers expressly answered me – that the theme in question does NOT support child-themes. (How is this possible???)

Anyway, could anyone help me figure out a way to use a child-theme stylesheet in order to make some changes to the “parent” theme without running the risk of loosing these changes after a possible update.

    Thank you!

  • If all you need is some CSS changes, you could use a custom CSS plugin.

Incidentally, I’m also curious about the lack of child theme support. Did the developer say that the theme itself doesn’t support child themes or did they say that they don’t provide support for child themes?

Thanks a lot for the suggestion!

As for the lack of support, here’s my question and the corresponding answer on the developer’s support site:

    Hello,
Could you tell me if the theme is compatible with a user-created child theme? Is there anything particular to do in order to have the child style.css override specific styles from the parent? Right now it’s not working for me. See attached files for reference.

    Hi,
We regret to inform you, this feature is not available in the current version. However, it may be part of the next upgraded version.
