This is just to notify users that the 1.5 version of the UserVoice Idea List Widget has been released. This is a significant release, which is why we have chosen to make a post for it.
Over the last month, we’ve taken on the responsibility of the plugin. At one time, the plugin was not working since UserVoice had changed their API. Although others had fixed this, the original maintainers were too busy to update the project. They were kind enough to hand the project over to us, and the plugin is now working.
We have completely updated the plugin to work with the new UserVoice API. In addition, a few new features have been added, including the ability to add footer text to the widget, and turn off the “powered by” credits.
Today’s 1.5 release was almost a total rewrite of the plugin. We found it necessary to do so because the old version was using the old WordPress widget API, and therefore adding the widget to multiple widget panels required a hack. With the new code, you can easily implement the widget in as many sidebars as you require!
If you are using the widget, we would love your feedback, and any bugs you might find.
