Everyone who signs up to my website is automatically subscribed to receive an email whenever I post to my blog. Neither my customers nor I want this. It’s spammy & bad business. All my settings are set to ask people if they want to subscribe, but they’re not being asked and they’re not even receiving confirmation messages that they subscribed.

To make matters worse, there is no way for them to unsubscribe to the emails.

I’ve looked around the forums and I know I can alter the email templates to link to an unsubscribe page. The problem is, I have no idea what that address would be. I put the Subscribe2 widget in my sidebar and it takes me, as an admin, to a page where I can unsubscribe. But, when I login under a test account, it will not take me to the same page. Instead, it takes me to a page where customers can change their billing or shipping addresses. There is no way to unsubscribe on that page.

Thanks very much for your help!

  • @disparatedisciplines,

It sounds like you didn’t create a page for the plugin to use as recommended in the installation instructions. You need to revisit those instructions and create a page to handle subscriptions and unsubscriptions.

From what you’ve written it also sounds like you are using a membership plugin so you need to ensure that Registered Users are granted access to the profile page in Subscribe2 in that plugin.
