users signup for tasks

Is there a project management type plugin to let me allow my users to signup for a task (from a list or whatever) and have that task be marked as such – example – I’m having a party and don’t want everyone to bring chips, so I make a list and then my users can pick something, which is then unavailable for others to choose.
