Support » Fixing WordPress » Users roles gone

  • Im running a WP with multisites option enabled, now im trying to create some users and give them privileges over different sites but in the dropdown menu of each blog the roles are missing, as you can see in this screenshot

What can be happening here? Some missing configuration?

I dont really know what to do, been working with WP for some time now and never seen something like this happening.

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • You have to add them to the site. They have no roles because they aren;t a user on that site. just the network.

Go to Super Admin – > Sites. pick a site. Edit it. look lower right, add a user there & give them a role.

    Thanks Andrea,

But ive done that to, and there arent any roles on the dropdown menu wher you select the role for the user in the site youre editing.

As an update to my question i can add that in the main site i have the roles available, but not in the other sites.

Gonna need a screenshot – of the Super Admin -> Edit screen with the drop-down.

Also, disable plugins in case one of those in jacking things up.

    Hello Andrea,

This is the screenshot of that section, as you can see there are no options on the dropdown menu

    Thanks for the follow up

Do you have more than one user?

have you tried actually typing a username in that field?

Wel, i fixed this in the hard way..

    • Exported the blog content in the XMLs files
    • Deleted the blog
    • Created it again
    • Imported the content

All roles are back and i have no problem creating, adding or removing users at all…

It just seems that something was wrong with the blog…

    Thanks for your help!
