• Hi there!

I have a WordPress installation (hosted in Bluehost) for my blog. I want to include new contributors to it so they can create their posts and I can later publish them after I review them.

The problem I am having is that any user who is not the main Admin user is getting a 500 (internal server error) when clicking the ‘Add new’ button in the posts section. Apparently post_new is crashing for some reason. This applies for contributors, authors, and basically any kind of role I try except for admin.

I checked the error logs but there is nothing there. I haven’t found any issue with my plugins either and I increased the memory limit just in case. I don’t know when this problem started since I only decided to create contributor users recently. As far as I know it’s always been there.

Any idea what could be causing this?

    Thanks!

  • This doesn’t happen on standard WordPress installs, so there is likely a problem with something specifically on your install or setup. Try a test/new install in another directory and see how that works.

Also try deactivating all plugins, and switching your theme to twentyten or twentyeleven and see if it works after that has been done.
