    – try checking your htaccess file, if you changed it recently it might be the problem.
    – also try consulting your hosting provider, although they said the problem isn’t at their end, it might be a problem with the server.

im having the same issue with 1and1, one site works with the login and 2 do not for the admin page

What if this (lasting forever) “Service Temporarily Unavailable” happens to one administrator but not the other?

    @angelshadow20:

Despite any similarity in symptoms, your issue is likely to be completely different because of possible differences in physical servers, accounts, hosts, plugins, theme, configurations, etc. Please review how and where to post in this forum: http://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#Where_To_Post
It’s the best way to get attention to your specific issue as you deserve.

    Thanks Tara.

I’ve located my htaccess file via ftp.

However, I’m not sure how to read it. This is what is written within it.
Might this mean something to you?

only this IP is allowed: 212.227.112.228
    is this your IP?

No Tara it isn’t my IP but a quick check on Google reveals it to be a 1and1 IP.

So I guess ultimately it is related to my site.

Is there anything else that springs to mind with you?

I’m not great with website design/HTML etc but although I never worked in the sector I did study and qualify as a PC engineer, and I know the process, like with medicine, is similar, you eliminate what it is not to diagnose what it is.

Also what adds greatly to the complication with WordPress is Plugins that might now work well together.

It could do some of those that causing my issues.

Many many thanks for taking the time and effort to assist.

    To find out, try:
deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s). If you can’t get into your admin dashboard, try deactivating via FTP or SFTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    Thank you

Tara, thanks. Very good suggestion and I will try it.

    Hi,

I’m also having the same problem with 1and1.fr.
503 error happens when users try to connect or when trying to access to a password protected post. (wp-login.php?action=postpass)

I have tried the plug-in shutdown with no improvements and I don’t know what to do more.

@raulendymion I’m working on resolving this with 1and1 right now. Can you tell me the name of your website?

    thank you ! http://www.50ans-50portraits.com
Have they confirmed that it’s their problem?

@raulendymion no not yet but it has escalated to their more experienced tech team.

I will report back here any response I get from them.
