# Username Password Error / Hack

 * Please note I cannot be sure of version, as cannot get into back office. My ISP
   recently migrated server, which may or not be connected.
 * I attempted to log in with my correct username epony121 & password. This was 
   rejected.
 * I sent a forgot password using my username epony121, and nothing arrived at the
   correct email.
 * I then used the correct email address. This generated a password reset to an 
   unknown username testing1212.
 * I reset the password using testing1212, and it generated strings of code related
   to what I presume was a security error. These srrings included my correct username,
   which, is the same as my root directory, and cpanel & ISP username.
 * Any help and support the will enable me to reset a password to my correct username;
   and regain access to the back office would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

 * Just some info that may eventually turn out to be relevant. Your site appears
   to still be using WordPress Version 3.5.2. That version has not been secure for

 * Much Appreciated Clayton.
 * A bit of a Catch 22 for me. The site was designed by a website designer. With
   each WordPress update there would be formatting problems, which I then had to
   pay further design costs to rectify. So I tended to avoid updates. It looks like
   that has come home to roost.
 * So step 1 will be to sort out the login issue. Then address the update issue.

 * Thank you for all your helpful advice. I think this is too advanced for me. I
   was hoping it was just a question of locating msconfig, or equivalent, and editing
   that. I have engaged a new web designer to build a new site, so hopefully, with
   your invaluable information, it will be a relatively straightforward matter to
   resolve.
