User name hacked?

  • Hi, yesterday I had “visitors” from China.

    Since I use “Limit login…”, nothing bad happened. However I am concerned that the hacker knew my user name. This is not displayed but only a “nickname”. Also, this is no standard names such as admin etc.

    How is it possible find out a user name, up on case-sensitive, exactly?

  • It’s pretty easy to find the login name of an admin. You just type

    ?author=1

    at the end of your site’s url.

    example.com/?author=1

    You just change the “1” to a different number like “2” and so on to see if you find anything. Usually a low number is an administrator.

    If you want to prevent this, try a plugin like so:
