Title: User Url Restriction Last modified: November 14, 2021 --- # User Url Restriction * Resolved [amilisic](https://wordpress.org/support/users/amilisic/) * (@amilisic) * [4 years, 6 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/user-url-restriction/) * Good day everybody, * My issue is that I cannot find a way to redirect users that manually type in a URL of /user/ of other profiles. Even though I set up all the restrictions required in the ultimate member settings and page settings it will still display that users names and surname, I cant figure out how to have the user redirect to login page or its own profile page when it queries a url with no permissions to view. Page settings do have redirection options dependent of user role settings, but the issue is all users are under “members” user role, moving them to another role logistically wont resolve the issue. * To summarize, a logged in user with his own /user/ cannot access other profiles by manually typing the url of that profile but gets redirected to his profile if any attempt is made. You can set it in the User Role settings. In this case I created a test account with only members role and loged into that test account. I made sure that the webpage and role settings have other profiles viewable “off” setting. Other issue is how to redirect those attempts( when manually accessing other users via url) back to the user loged in page. If there’s more than 1 role, you need to make the Role that has the “Can view other member profiles?” option off a primary role by adding a Priority Number in the settings. Because it when the manual URL of the specific user is put in once logged in as a test user, only their public name is viewable no other information. All the settings are viewable in the video I sent you. It is a customer user role I have created called “members”. I’ve created a new role and migrated all the settings, tested it and it will still allow users to see other profile names. Ive checked setting can allow to make profile private but that did not change anything. same outcome.
