• User switching works fine on my primary domain (www.1440.org), but when I use it on a subdomain (staging.1440.org), I can switch from admin user to customer user, but then when trying to switch back I get the error message “Could not switch users.”

Is there any easy fix to allow User Switching to work on subdomains as well as primary domain?

    Thanks,
    Phil

Is the subdomain site a separate site from the main one? Or is it part of a multisite network?

User Switching works on any domain, but there’s a chance in this case that the cookies that WordPress is using are getting confused between the two sites.

You could try explicitly setting the COOKIE_DOMAIN constant in your wp-config.php file of each site to see if this resolves the issue.

Subdomain is a separate copy, not a multisite setup. I’ll try what you suggest and see if it works.
