User Switch Link Not Visible For Certain Roles

    When switching to a user in the backend/admin panel with a role of “Customer” the Switch User link is not visible in the user’s profile, so I’m unable to switch from the user back to the admin profile without logging out.

    Otherwise, it could be a very useful plugin, so thank you!

    A “Switch Back” link is shown in several places, including the admin toolbar, the login screen, the “Meta” widget, and the site footer. If you’re using a plugin which customises the login functionality then it may not show up on a custom login screen.

    Otherwise take a look in your site footer, it might be that the link is hidden and you’ll need to use some CSS to make it appear above your site footer.

    Ah, yes. Thank you, John.

    I was using some custom code in the backend/admin UI to hide notices using CSS which I modified to exclude the user_switching div id and all is now well.

    This is here in case somebody finds it useful.

    .notice:not(#user_switching) { display: none !important; }
