User submitted posts redirect to ?p=post_id which is an Error 404 page

  • Theme is Avada, I have several plugins but have disabled them all and then one-by-one to see if they are interfering and that made no difference.

It works fine when I am logged in as Admin, but users complained that when they added posts they saw a 404 page.

    Website is http://www.ashingtonvillage.co.uk/

I registered as a new user and posted a post and sure enough I end up on the 404 page.

Changed WPUF default posts status to Published & Pending & Draft and none seem to work.

    Where am I going wrong?

  • I got the same issue too. Can’t find the resolution.

Try using one of the default themes of WordPress to see if the problem persists. Themes are often the cause of problems

I’m having the same trouble. I’m trying to post to a custom post type as pending status but it keeps giving me a 404 page after submitting the post on the front end. And the email I receive as admin also forwards to a 404 page, so I’m not even able to mark the post as “reviewed”. Any suggestions?

    Thanks so much!

Obviously this doesn’t happen normally to Frontend so something else is causing this.

    1. Try using one of the default themes of WordPress to see if the problem persists. Themes are often the cause of problems.

    2. Disable other plugins to see if they are the cause of the problem.

Tell us the results of above and what versions of Frontend and WordPress you are using and your theme.
