Support » Networking WordPress » User Subdomains not being Created properly

  • I run BuddyPress on my Multisite, and when I updated both to the most recent versions, new user sites stopped being created properly. Users can still register new sites, but when they do, it maps them to a path that does not include the root domain.

I run my multisite with subfolders. So, for example, for http://mydomain.com, a user who creates the new site “writing” should have it mapped to http://mydomain.com/writing. However, since the upgrade, it now maps to http:///writing.

Any suggestions on how to get this back on track? Thanks in advance!

What did you upgrade? BuddyPress or WP?

I’m sorry, I meant to say that I upgraded both BuddyPress & WP. Running the most current version of both, WP 3.4.2 & BP 1.6.1.

Have you asked this on buddypress.org?

Not yet. Is that a better place to post the question? Is it most likely linked to the buddypress upgrade?

It would be good to ask in both places. I would lean towards BP, since I’ve never seen that error before.

I haven’t seen that error before too. In the meantime, re-upload WP and BP then change theme to BP Default theme and deactivate plugins which have not been updated for WP 3.4.2 and BP 1.6.1

Thanks for the help. I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet, but now I have some ideas to move me in the right direction.
