That’s what I thought too but no. Nowhere in my admin do I seem to have the ability to change new registration user role
I see a “New User Default Role” right where esmi said it should be. Its the 7th item down. If you don’t see it, are you sure that you are logged in with sufficient privileges?
I am the site super admin. I have all the administration rights. I have looked in my site admin and in my network admin and I have no ability to change a users role upon registration.
Perhaps post a screenshot somewhere?
Perhaps a screenshot of where it should be may be better. I have nothing here to show as I have not got the option 🙁

Ahhh… Multisite is not something I have experience with, but there is a forum here just for that. Its called ‘Multisite’. You might have better luck there. At least people won’t get quite so confused. My guess is that you can’t globally set this value for all sites but you ought to be able set it on a site by site basis.
I don’t think you can do even that, as I am trying and failing miserably 🙁 Thank you for your help. I appreciate the pair of you taking time out for me.
Perhaps you could use a user registration hook to get the effect you want.
I wish I understood what you said as it sounds brilliant 😉 I downloaded a plugin that allows me to verify their accounts, so now I can change their role as I let them in….if it works lol
