    Hi!

I’m building a system with members who should be able to register as a member. The member will then be able to edit his profile (user, member, people). He should also be able to create and edit his own events and locations. I tried setting up permissions and user roles to manage this, but failed. In admin the user can see and edit all events or none, locations and members, not only his own. What do I do wrong? Is it possible to do?

  • Thanks, the thing with wrong author id might come from one in my team deleting the user and then creating him again, so don’t spend time on that part until it occurs again.

No I think the error is more in the code region of line 1839 and down

    Hi Franky!

    1) Tested more with the problem that author is set to 0 in locations. This also happens if you login as the user, edit your location and saves. The Locations auther ID was 5 before and after save it’s back to 0.

    2) Your fix in line 48 dosn’t help, #ESC_EDITLOCATIONURL doesn’t work.

Concerning the location author: I still need to check it (didn’t have the time yesterday), but the location fix should work. What is your error if you comment out that line?

Nothing happens, no change if I comment out that line. If I login as the user it doesn’t provide the link value in #_EDITLOCATIONURL, but it does in #_EDITEVENTURL

More info after test….also if I edit the users location as admin it changes location author to 0

Ok, the edit of a location did indeed reset the author. This will fix that:

Edit: and I assume that will fix the #_EDITLOCATIONURL issue too (once you correct the location author in the db)

Sorry, but this gives a message that the location update failed when saving the edited location

Yes indeed, I just fixed that (you were faster than me). But much more has changed (now also the author of an event/location can be changed), so I recommend you to try out the dev version.

The latest release should fix all this too now.
