# User Role modification

 * I’m looking for a plugin that will allow me to modify what options users will
   have access to. I want to be able to restrict them from say Pages, Themes, etc
   for certain groups and other things for other people.

 * Changing the “role” of a user implies, in WP parlance, to give or restrict access
   to certain capabilities (enter a new post, publish it, check comments for spam,
   activate plugins, etc.) What you seem to be looking for is an _access management_
   plugin – there are several very good ones out there – that allow you to control
   who gets to access which _content._ If you look for “membership” plugins you’ll
   quickly see what I mean. There’s an absolutely fabulous plugin by Justin Tadlock,
   called (if I remember correctly) “Members” that should also be in the WP plugin
   repository.
 * It has tons of options, it’s “free” (free to use and free as in free beer) and
   its author deserves a lot of kudos for putting such a great plugin out there.
   You really want to try that one.
