Hi im runing wordpress as a blog site and a comunity forum so that front page will be blog and rest of pages information, membership and forum.
What i cant understand is that if i want a normal user to register it goes into the backend!!! Same as the login!!! I dont want them to go anywhere near the backend thats all i want is a registration page with custom fields and a login widget on the front page. Is this possible. Ill also be using s2membership once setup.

Any help or infomation would be great...

Need a little bit more info. By the 'backend' do you mean the 'dashboard' or the default WordPress login screen?

Ah sorry im new to wordpress. If i type in wp-admin it goes to the dashboard or as i call it the backend. If im the admin then i go there to add posts and so on. But if im a normal user just registering on the site to use the forum the bar comes accross the top and you can get to the dashboard (limited obviously) But that sort of gives it away that its a wordpress installation and the admin directory is on show. Thats all i want to do is have a seperate login and registration for the forums...
Thank you for your prompt response...

There's a lot of different possibilities that you may want to look into. Everyone has their own preferences, so I'll just mention a couple.

You may want to use a plugin that disables the admin bar on the front end, or maybe for just new users. There's plenty of them. I can't really recommend one, 'cause I hard code mine without a plugin.

There are also many plugins that can provide a login in a widget area. Or maybe you want something like this:

Just search through the plugins, there's plenty that customize the login, hide it, or move it.

Ah brilliant. Thank you for your help. I havent long turnd to wordpress form several years using joomla. I was hoping that the login system would be simular i think... So front end login would be seperate from the admin backend...
Ill search throught the plugins and see what i can find...

    Thank you for your help...

Yeah, WordPress is a bit different than Joomla. I quit building with Joomla about a year ago. There are some things like what you mentioned, that I prefer in Joomla over WordPress, but there is so much out there for WordPress now. WordPress is much easier to modify than Joomla to me.

Here are some more plugins that may interest you:
