What is the point of the user profile? there are no pages that display the info unless it is set in the theme. Is there anyway to make it so when you see a post/comment and when you click on the author of it it goes to a page that displays their website and if possible an avatar or something???
It depends on what template you use, but it’s easy to add these features into your current template. Look at the various Author tags to see everything you can do.
Even better Codex page for this:
Is there anyway to make it so when you see a post/comment and when you click on the author of it it goes to a page that displays their website and if possible an avatar or something???
because currently the author for the post, page or comment isn’t a link. and if I were to make it a link what would it link to???
If you had followed brittanie’s link you would have found this:
Which also deals with the link I provided above, that is author queries and the template used for them:
EDIT: Corrected link to template tag the_author_posts_link().
I am a noob I have no Idea what you mean. Even Though I have been using php for 2 years.
So just tell me how do I:
make all names used for who the comment/post was submitted by a link to a page that siplays their profile
have profile pages
add avatars and other info
Are you following the links provided? Are you reading the content at the end of those links?
I think of page as like a plugin page not a link I am not using wordpress terms in my posts.
Author posts link template tag:
All authors/users links:
Author “profile page”:
page = url to plug-in
page = page you create in wordpress in admin panel
