[resolved] User photo thumbnail is tiny (3 posts)

    I just installed WordPress 3.9-beta3 with a custom theme on a test site. The theme shows a user photo for every post. In past versions of WP the size was controlled by the "thumbnail" size options in the media options. (You can see an example of 3.8 in action at classic.jotwell.com or at the parent site, jotwell.com)

    Now, however, when I upload the exact same picture I use on the production site, the test site shows a tiny little version of the photo, even thought the media settings are the same as on the production site. Example at zetasec4.jotwell.com

  2. That's your theme.

    Small Image:

    <img src="http://i2.wp.com/zetasec4.jotwell.com/wp-content/uploads/userphoto/5.thumbnail.jpg?resize=52%2C80" alt="James Pfander" class="photo" width="52" height="80">

    Larger image:

    <img src="http://i1.wp.com/classic.jotwell.com/wp-content/uploads/userphoto/avermeule.thumbnail.jpg?resize=100%2C120" alt="Adrian Vermeule" class="photo" width="100" height="120">

    Whatever you're using to resize in the theme, NOT the media options in WP core, is probably doing this.

    Forgive my ignorance here, I didn't write the theme, but when I upload a new user photo in 3.9-beta3-27857-20140401 to the User Profile page (e.g. http://zetasec4.jotwell.com/wp-admin/profile.php?wp_http_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2Fusers.php) the 'thumbnail' version comes out tiny. E.g. http://zetasec4.jotwell.com/wp-content/uploads/userphoto/1.thumbnail.jpg?1741492463

    That is not what happened in version 3.8. Instead -- uploading the same photo - I got something like http://adlaw.jotwell.com/wp-content/uploads/userphoto/3.thumbnail.jpg?1857430335.

    What in the theme would interact so differently with the new version as to do this even on the user page?
