User Password Length

  • I have enabled the “Anybody can register” but would like to enforce a minimum password length of 6 characters. Would this be possible? Any hints/links to show me where or what to edit?
    Thanks!

I believe the password is generated by wordpress, not the users.

I concur with whooami, the only thing you could possibly do is adjust the form options if they want to change their password so it’ also at least 6 characters, if it’s not already.

Hmm, yea you might be correct. I was adding a user while logged on as Admin, which I used only 3 characters. Allowing a user to register themself and the password that is emailed is 7 characters. However, they then can change their password once logged on. So, I’m now wondering if 7 characters is still enforced. Guess, I’ll soon find out.

wish users could enter their own password when registering.
