    Hi,
I’ve started receiving lot of messages with the “A user with IP address XYZ has been locked out from the signing in or using the password recovery”.
I set the option to lock these attempts for 10 days.
His/her IP appears under the “IPs that are locked out from login” with the tag “Will be unlocked in 9 days 19 hours”
But still I get the same message, same IP, every 5 or so hours.
Why is it not blocking the IP for the chosen 10 days? Am I missing something? Sorry if it’s so. Otherwise, please help.

    Thanks and happy holidays!

  • Hi,

Will you try opening the Java error console in your browser when you are on the Blocked IP’s page? See if there are any errors. It may just be the page is not updating properly.

    Thanks,
    Brian

    Hi,
thanks for the reply in the middle of holidays.
I checked and the browser console shows no errors.
I guess I explained myself poorly: every few hours I get an EMAIL message informing a certain IP was locked out from the signing in. Always the same IP.
And that happens althought that same IP appears as blocked for the mext 10 days. (I chose 10 days in my preferences, after 3 unsuccessful attempts)
My temporary solution has been to manually block it “permanently”. But I don’t think it’s a real solution… any ideas?

    Thanks again

@wagedu: This might mean your database user doesn’t have access to write to all of the tables, or if you have a caching plugin that caches database query results, that may also cause a similar problem.
