    hello everybody
I need to build a website as a place where different users (in this case NGOs volunteers) can have own page (pages which I would prepare) to show few infos (contact infos, very short biography) about their activities. I did not want to build a multisite installation because users don’t need to show so much infos and anyway every page has to be shown as visually included in the website (also with an inner search field).
The problem is that I would like to give also access to every user only to own page giving the chance to update their infos (for example changing the contact info etc) if necessary without asking me every time about it.
My question is then: is possible to ensure to a single user access and chance to editing the content ONLY to a particular page?
I looked up some plugins but I did not find yet something useful.
Thanks in advance for every help and answer.

  • Hi,

Restricting edits to only one’s own page could be accomplished by not letting their user role have the “edit_others_pages” capability.

There are various roles and capabilities plugins that allow you to do this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/roles/

Let us know if this is what you were looking for.

Hi Paulo, thanks a lot for your answer. I solved, as you suggested, with a plugin (User Role Editor). I’ve built some pages in a test website, changing the author’s name (admin) of every page to the name of several users I created and assigning to them specific roles. It works fine. Every users can edit only own page. 🙂
    Thanks again and kind regards
