Support » Fixing WordPress » User cannot see text in edit window

  • Hi everyone,

I’ve been working on a new site for a non-profit, and last week their user reported that she cannot see any text in the visual editor window when she goes to edit pages or posts. The first thing I did was to create a new user for her, but she’s still seeing the same issue.

She’s running Windows XP, and the issue happens both with Firefox 3.6 and IE8. If this helps, here are the plugins I have installed:

    Calendar (By Kieran O’Shea)
    FLV Embed
    List Tags
    Simple Post Thumbnails
    Tag Pages
    Wordpress Related Posts
    WP Minify

I cannot replicate the issue on my end, I am running Windows 7.

    Thanks in advance!

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

I will try the plugin thing first. Thanks a bunch!

I hope someone sees this. I tried deactivating all the plugins installed, and my user reports still having the same issue. She can use the HTML window, but the visual editor does not even load.

    Any more ideas?

Check that she is using a javascript enabled browser.
