  • I seem to be missing how users can upload their own avatar to their profile. Also how to they make that avatar appear on each of their posts?

  • Hi, I am also having this problem. I am unable to change my avatar. I can also not change the avatar of my users. Help please. đŸ™‚

Also, I went into my Dashboard, under Discussion Settings I have “show Avatars” under Avatar Display. Don’t know what the problem is.

I think you need to install a plugin that will allow them to do this.

Gravatars are globally recognised avatars. They are linked to an e-mail address, so every time you or one of your users posts on a Gravatar enabled site with that e-mail address their avatar is shown. If no Gravatar has been registered by the user, then a default is displayed (usually the grey ‘Mystery Man’).

WordPress 2.5+ has Gravatar support built-in, so no plug-ins required.
However, the Gravatar has to be created and linked to an e-mail address via the Gravatar website before it will show on a blog.

The Gravatar website is also where a Gravatar user can change their registered avatar picture for a different one.

Thanks guys, there’s also a custom avatar plugin I found.

Adds local (private) avatars for your users. Maybe your users don’t want a global avatar, aren’t IT savvy enough to set a Gravatar up, simply want a private avatar for your blog, or any other reason too…
The plugin also delivers the much requested feature of allowing users to upload their own local avatar. This feature can be turned on and off by Administrators.
The local avatar feature list… By Peter Sterling.

im currently trying this one out.
