    If you’re using the Avatar settings in Settings/Discussion, they create and control their avatars at Gravatar.com.

    i have changed from default but still i was not able to load my avatar. i dont want to have to go to gravatar.

    WordPress uses Gravatar for all avatars. Sign up with them, link an avatar to your email address, and your avatar will appear on thousands of Gravatar-enabled sites accross the web, including this forum. It’s really a nice system.
