Sorry you feel that way, but it’s not true in my opinion. The premium version has only one option more than the free version, this is clearly stated in the faq and below the screenshot with the premium feature. There are some handy functions in the free version like for example the shortcode [gallery category='my-category-slug'] or the option to bulk categorize in the media library. Also you get free support with the free plugin.

If only 1% of the people who use the free version would make a small donation there would be no need to have a paid premium version. Sadly I have only received one small donation for all my plugins in the last 5 year. And a developer has got to make some money to ;-).
If you don’t want to pay or don’t want to use the free version than that’s ok. But don’t give 1 star ratings, that’s just cruel.

Glad I read the reviews before bothering with it. I understand wanting to offer some premium features to support development, but I’d say this crippled feature is quite an important one to ask money over. I’d rather see the contrary: release the free plugin with filtering enabled, but without shortcode gallery (which I can see some people requiring) or bulk organization, which would wind up as premium features. I can actually see this becoming the core for a more structured media management suite, while still providing the essential functions without making people think it’s donationware while it’s actually freemium for vital features; think about it.
