• In the past I used that plugin for all my clients pages and it was ok. After the update the “old version” doesn’t work anymore and you are forced to register. No way – Good bye!

    Hello @mirksen ,

    I’m sorry to know that your experience with the new version of the plugin was not satisfactory.

    Even with the 2.0 version you still can use the old plugin without the need to register and use our WPMU DEV Dashboard plugin:

    Sure, it does seem we can use the ‘old’ version, for now, but you have re-labelled the settings as Legacy in the browser tab and put (old) next to the settings for the previous version in the WP dashboard menu, along with Beta next to version 2.0

    So, are you planning on retiring version 1.x.x at some point and making it all cloud based or nothing?

    I have restored to the previous working version and will be ignoring the update to 2.0 In the meantime I’m going to look for other broken link checking options unless you guys re-adjust your strategy. Trust me, I have better things to do right now instead of making these posts and looking to replace something that was working perfectly fine.

    The old version doesn’t work anymore for me. It stucks during checking all links and links aren’t shown anymore…

    Hi @sean-h

    We really appreciate your feedback!

    Our team is looking for ways to improve the check process. Since the plugin looks for broken links as a user visiting the site, it improves these checks getting rendered pages instead of looking at the code in the site. There were some requests for the plugin to be capable to look for links in menus, widgets, shortcodes, etc. By having an API crawling a site, the plugin may get a more accurate report of any broken link.

    We’d really like you to give BLC 2.0 a chance in the future as new features get added and our users can get more benefits from the tool.

    @mirksen

    The old version should be working fine. Could you make sure BLC 2.0 is removed and then deactivating and activating back the plugin and check if the scan is completed in that way?

    Kind regards

    Luis

    Nope, the old version doesn’t work anymore for me. Anyway – when I read the other reviews and comments it sounds like the time of broken link checker is over. Sorry, but u ruined it… Very sad…
