Although very useful, and comprehensive help, the effort I was putting in was similar to that going direct with Entra for free. Payment would only unlock impediments put there by the developer, but this is the same with all related SSO/login app,s and in the end if you don’t want to navigate Entra in Azure to configure then this is a great range of products to go with, but in the long run, you will pay dearly for what really is already free to configure at say Microsoft.

For me I prefer more control and tweaking, as i will grow in complexity, so in the end went with Openid connect generic plugin which is open source and free. and will tweak as I grow.

    Hi @raybanmonster

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience with the WPO365 | LOGIN!

First of all, I’d like to add that the source for the WPO365 | LOGIN plugin is also open and free.

Another point, I’d like to bring forward, is that – in my humble opinion – there is only one locked feature in the free version, namely that the basic profile fields such as name and email address of a new WordPress user – when created by the WPO365 plugin – are not populated. Otherwise, I am not aware of any other locked feature in regard to SSO / Sign in with Microsoft. And as a developer, you have a fair chance to simply work-around that, using one of the built-in hooks.

Last but not least, I would also like to state that paying for a license or a service also means that you – as a customer – are able to connect with the developer 24 / 7. In your case, it seems that you are a developer yourself. And maybe it would make sense to emphasize this more e.g. by changing the title of this review to “Useful, but for me – as a developer – I prefer more control over the solution”.

    Thank you and best wishes!

    -Marco
